Atlético Madrid: Julián Álvarez wants to leave
Julián Álvarez could leave Atlético Madrid this summer. After Argentina’s 2-0 win over Austria at the 2026 World Cup, the striker admitted he wants to take his career in a new direction.
“I think a change would be the best solution for everyone. I want to fulfill my dream,” he revealed. Under contract until 2030, the 26-year-old has nevertheless had a brilliant season, notching 20 goals and 9 assists in 49 appearances.
Several top clubs are monitoring his situation. FC Barcelona appears to be his top choice, while Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal are also among the suitors. Atlético Madrid, however, remains firm and is not keen to let their striker go easily. The Spanish club may even prefer to sell to Arsenal rather than their Barcelona rivals.
