Atlético want to extend Marc Pubill’s contract
Atlético de Madrid want to secure Marc Pubill’s future. Having joined the club in summer 2025, the Spanish defender quickly established himself as an important member of Diego Simeone’s squad. The club’s management now want to reward his progress with a new contract.
Extension before the end of the year
According to information from Matteo Moretto, reported by Radio MARCA, Atlético Madrid want to finalize the contract extension of Marc Pubill before the end of the year. The club have already submitted a first proposal to the player and are preparing a second offer with improved terms.
The aim is notably to increase the defender’s salary and extend his contract, which currently runs until June 2030.
Pubill prioritizes Atlético
This desire to extend the player’s contract comes as several European clubs are reportedly interested in him. Arsenal were notably linked with the Spanish defender during the last transfer window, while Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool are also reportedly among the clubs monitoring his situation.
However, Pubill has reportedly made continuing his spell in Madrid his priority. This position is facilitating discussions between the two parties, as Atlético want to secure a player who has become important to Simeone’s project.
