Three English clubs interested in Simeone
Giuliano Simeone is attracting growing interest in the Premier League. At 23, the Argentine winger from Atlético de Madrid is on the radar of Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham.
Three English clubs on the lookout
Having been developed at Atlético de Madrid since 2019, Giuliano Simeone gradually earned his place in the first team during the 2024–2025 season. The Argentina international enjoyed a convincing campaign in La Liga, scoring four goals and providing six assists in 31 matches, including 25 starts. This season, he has already recorded two goals and two assists in nine appearances in all competitions.
According to TEAMtalk, Manchester City and Manchester United had made inquiries about his situation during the last summer transfer window. Atlético were nevertheless unwilling to sell the player, who himself wanted to continue his adventure in the Spanish capital. Tottenham are now also being mentioned among the contenders. Roberto De Zerbi is said to particularly appreciate the Argentine’s profile and would be pushing for his arrival.
Atlético hold a strong position
A potential transfer will not be easy to complete. Giuliano Simeone extended his contract with Atlético de Madrid last winter, committing him to the club until 2030. The Spanish club is therefore under no pressure to rush his departure. His development and attacking versatility also make him increasingly valuable to Diego Simeone’s squad, with his father also serving as his coach.
The Argentine has also scored three goals in 17 appearances for his national team. The English clubs will therefore have to convince both the player and Atlético, who had already ruled out a departure during the previous transfer window.
Our analysis
Giuliano Simeone offers an appealing profile for the Premier League: active in his defensive work, capable of making runs in behind and useful in attacking transitions. For Manchester City and Manchester United, the interest reported during the summer shows that his profile has been monitored for several months. Tottenham could nevertheless try to gain the upper hand if Roberto De Zerbi insists on signing him.
The main obstacle remains Atlético’s position. With a contract until 2030 and a player who wanted to stay during the last transfer window, the Spanish club has no reason to facilitate his departure in the short term. The situation could therefore depend on the intentions of the three English clubs and on how Simeone’s role in Madrid develops over the coming months.
