Ballon d'Or 2026: Officially.. Revealing Achraf Hakimi's final rank globally among the legends of the game
Morocco international Achraf Hakimi has finished 13th in the 2026 Ballon d'Or rankings dropping seven places from his historic sixth-place finish last year despite another successful season with Paris Saint-Germain.
The 27 year old right back learned his final position on Monday, 26 October as France Football continued revealing the men's rankings ahead of the 70th Ballon d'Or ceremony at the London Palladium.
Hakimi finished immediately behind Barcelona's Pau Cubarsí who claimed 12th place and ahead of PSG teammate Vitinha who was ranked 14th.
The result confirms that the Moroccan will finish outside the world's top ten after achieving the highest Ballon d'Or ranking in his country's history in 2025.
Hakimi's 13th place finish is now confirmed.

Achraf Hakimi drops from sixth to 13th in Ballon d'Or voting
Hakimi's latest ranking represents a significant change from the previous edition.
In September 2025, the Moroccan defender finished sixth becoming the highest ranked Moroccan player in the history of the award.
His position generated considerable debate at the time, with many supporters believing his performances for PSG deserved even greater recognition.
As previously reported on Hakimi's reaction to his 2025 ranking, the defender insisted that finishing among the world's leading players was a source of pride rather than disappointment.
The two most recent results highlight his standing in world football:
- 2025 Ballon d'Or: 6th place
- 2026 Ballon d'Or: 13th place
Although Hakimi has dropped seven positions, he remains among the world's 15 highest ranked players in the latest vote.
Hakimi ranks well ahead of Sadio Mané
Hakimi's 13th place finish also makes him the highest ranked player representing an African national team among the two African nominees in the men's category.
Senegal international Sadio Mané finished joint 29th alongside Arsenal defender William Saliba.
As Foot Africa reported following Mané's ranking announcement, the Al-Nassr forward remains far from the second place finish he achieved in 2022.
Hakimi's result therefore provides another notable individual distinction for Moroccan football, despite his decline from last year's sixth position.
