Trailing 2-0 at half-time, Trabzonspor turned the game around to beat Çaykur Rizespor 4-3 on Monday, October 26, 2026, in the 10th round of the Turkish league. Franculino Djú scored twice, including the winning goal in the 83rd minute.

Franculino Djú was one of the key contributors to Trabzonspor’s victory away to Çaykur Rizespor. After a difficult first half, which ended with the visitors trailing by two goals, the club completely turned the match around to win 4-3, notably thanks to the Guinea-Bissau striker’s brace.

Rizespor took the lead through Gennaro Borrelli, who scored twice in the 12th and 32nd minutes. At half-time, Trabzonspor were up against it and had to react if they hoped to leave with all three points.

The response came immediately after the restart. Melih Kabasakal reduced the deficit in the 49th minute, before Aral Şimşir equalised two minutes later. Having regained momentum, the visitors continued to attack, and Franculino Djú put them ahead in the 57th minute.

But Rizespor had not yet had their final say. Qazim Laçi levelled the score in the 68th minute, rekindling the suspense in this match full of twists and turns.

Franculino Djú wins it for Trabzonspor

With the match seemingly capable of going either way, Franculino Djú struck again in the 83rd minute. His second goal of the evening secured the victory for Trabzonspor, completing a spectacular comeback after they had fallen two goals behind.

The brace confirms the striker’s strong form since joining the Turkish club. Already noticed during his previous appearances, notably after scoring twice against KuPS in the Conference League, the Guinea-Bissau international continues to prove decisive.

This latest performance also strengthens his case for a more important role in Trabzonspor’s attack, where competition with Paul Onuachu is becoming an issue for the rest of the season.

With this victory, Trabzonspor recorded their fourth consecutive league win and took their points tally to 19. Rizespor, meanwhile, suffered a third straight defeat.

Franculino Djù makes an impression

This latest outing adds to an already strong record since his arrival. The player has scored 7 goals and provided three assists in 8 appearances for the Turkish club in all competitions. In the Turkish league, he has 5 goals and one assist in 5 matches. The Guinea-Bissau striker’s performances are now raising questions about Trabzonspor’s attacking hierarchy. Paul Onuachu, the Nigerian centre-forward and his direct competitor in attack, remains an important member of the squad. But the Guinea-Bissau international’s consistency is giving the coaching staff an increasingly credible alternative.

His goals, attacking activity and ability to make the difference in closely fought matches give him a strong case for greater responsibility. His brace against Rizespor strengthens that case further.

The competition remains open, but Franculino Djú is establishing himself among Trabzonspor’s major attacking options. If he maintains this form, he could soon reshape the coach’s choices.
