Ismaël Saïbari opened his goalscoring account for the season with Bayern Munich. The Moroccan midfielder scored the Bavarians’ fifth goal in their 7-0 victory over Union Berlin on Friday evening, in the opening match of the fourth round of the Bundesliga.

Coming on in the 63rd minute in place of Luis Díaz, Ismaël Saïbari needed only seven minutes to make an impact. In the 70th minute, the Moroccan showcased his technical quality in the box before finishing to make it 5-0.

This was Saïbari’s first goal for Bayern in the Bundesliga this season. It was also his first goal in all competitions since joining the Munich club. The match data credited him with a goal and no assist.

Bayern had already put the match beyond doubt before he came on, with Jamal Musiala, Harry Kane and Michael Olise scoring in the first half, followed by Kane again after the break. Saïbari then scored the fifth goal before Olise’s final brace, with the Frenchman completing a hat-trick in the match.

Already three assists in the Bundesliga

Although he was still waiting for his first league goal, Saïbari had already played an important role in Bayern’s opening matches. On the first matchday against Stuttgart, he provided two assists, first for Aleksandar Pavlović and then for Luis Díaz.

The Moroccan was decisive again away to Elversberg on September 13. He set up Lennart Karl with a low cross for the opening goal in the 26th minute. That third assist allowed him to join the league’s leading providers after three matchdays.

After four matchdays, Saïbari now has one goal and three assists in the Bundesliga.

Joined from PSV Eindhoven this summer

Saïbari joined Bayern Munich in the summer of 2026 from PSV Eindhoven. The Bavarian club officially announced his transfer on July 1, with a contract running until June 30, 2031.

Last season in the Netherlands, the attacking midfielder scored 15 goals and provided eight assists in 27 Eredivisie appearances for PSV. He had also recorded 31 goals and 25 assists in 93 league appearances for the Dutch club.

In Munich, his adaptation is therefore continuing with a first Bundesliga goal and already three assists. Against Union Berlin, he added the goal that had still been missing from his start to the season.
