Cape Verde: Dual-nationality players join the Blue Sharks

After securing their place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Cape Verde continues to turn heads by bolstering its squad with stars of dual nationality.

The latest additions? Jordan Semedo and Fábio Duarte. Both players are now officially eligible to represent Cape Verde, following FIFA's approval of their international nationality switch.

Jordan Semedo previously captained France's U20 team. The 23-year-old defender, a product of Monaco's academy, operates as a left-back for Slavia Sofia in Bulgaria.

Fábio Duarte, 27, is a solid goalkeeper currently playing for Decembro in Portugal’s third division. A graduate of the prestigious Benfica Lisbon academy, he has featured for Portugal at every youth level.

While Jordan was already called up in May 2025 for a friendly against Malaysia, goalkeeper Fábio Duarte could make his debut for the national team during the upcoming FIFA window this March.
