Level on points and unbeaten in the league, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund face off to take sole possession of the Bundesliga lead.

A top-of-the-table clash awaits at the Allianz Arena. Bayern Munich host Borussia Dortmund this Saturday, 31 October 2026, on matchday 8 of the Bundesliga. Kick-off is scheduled for 17:30 GMT, or 18:30 in Germany. Both teams head into this meeting still unbeaten in the league.

Each side has 17 points from seven matches, with five wins and two draws. Bayern sit top thanks to their goal difference: 25 goals scored and six conceded. In second place, BVB have scored 12 goals and conceded just four.

Dortmund therefore boast the best defence in the league, having kept five clean sheets. Bayern, meanwhile, have scored 18 times in their first three Bundesliga home matches: against Stuttgart (5-1), Union Berlin (7-0) and Leipzig (6-1).

Both teams have also just qualified for the German Cup. Ismaël Saibari scored one goal and provided an assist in Bayern's emphatic 6-1 win over Magdeburg. Dortmund, for their part, defeated Werder Bremen (3-2), thanks to a Marcel Sabitzer free-kick in stoppage time.

Tobias Stieler will referee the match, assisted by Jan Seidel and Rafael Foltyn. Florian Badstübner will serve as the fourth official, while Matthias Jöllenbeck will be in charge of VAR. Around 8,000 BVB supporters are expected in a sold-out away section.
