Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs have named their starting line-ups for the Soweto Derby, with both teams defending unbeaten starts to the league season.

The team news is in for one of South African football's biggest fixtures. Orlando Pirates face Kaizer Chiefs at FNB Stadium in Johannesburg on Saturday, 31 October 2026. Kick-off is scheduled for 13:30 GMT, or 15:30 South African time, on matchday nine of the Betway Premiership.

Pirates enter the derby in second place with 22 points from eight matches, one behind leaders Mamelodi Sundowns. Abdeslam Ouaddou's side have registered seven wins and one draw, including five consecutive league victories.

Chiefs sit fifth on 14 points after three wins and five draws. Fernando Da Cruz's team remain unbeaten in the league but have drawn their last three championship fixtures.

Wandile Duba starts for Amakhosi after his midweek hat-trick against TS Galaxy in the Carling Knockout Cup, a performance that prompted Da Cruz to back him for a future Bafana Bafana call-up. Brandon Petersen captains Chiefs, while Nkosinathi Sibisi wears the armband for Pirates.
