Chelsea sit fifth with 13 points. Beaten by Tottenham (0-2) in their last league outing, Xabi Alonso’s side have won just two of their last six Premier League matches, along with one draw and three defeats.

Manchester United, meanwhile, are 16th with seven points, one point clear of the relegation zone. The Red Devils are on an eight-match winless run in all competitions. Their defeat to Bournemouth (0-3) increased the pressure, despite the retention of Michael Carrick in the dugout. Manchester United have also failed to win away from home this season, recording three draws and three defeats in all competitions.

During the 2025-2026 season, Manchester United won both league meetings: 2-1 at Old Trafford, then 1-0 at Stamford Bridge. Matheus Cunha scored the only goal in the return fixture, played on April 18. Manchester United are therefore targeting a third consecutive victory over the Blues in the Premier League.
