Already interested in Lamine Camara during the last summer transfer window, Liverpool are reportedly once again in the running to sign the Senegalese midfielder from AS Monaco. After his move to Chelsea fell through at the last moment, the 22-year-old could be the subject of an approach from the Reds as early as January.

After the Chelsea setback, Liverpool make another move

Lamine Camara could soon discover a new league. According to Sun, Liverpool remain interested in the midfielder from AS Monaco, who was already closely monitored during the summer transfer window. At that time, Chelsea appeared to be close to signing the Senegal international. However, the deal ultimately fell through, with Monaco reportedly backing out at the last moment.

This setback could now benefit Liverpool. The Anfield club are reportedly currently considered the favourites to sign the player, while their directors continue to study the situation closely. A departure as early as the winter transfer window cannot be ruled out. However, no definitive conclusion has been announced regarding a potential agreement between Monaco and Liverpool.

Camara continues to show his potential at Monaco

Despite the episode surrounding his failed move to Chelsea, Lamine Camara has continued to progress on the pitch. The Senegalese midfielder regularly enjoys the confidence of his coach and has featured in Monaco's starting XI this season.

His performances have been praised for his energy, commitment and mental strength. In twelve official appearances during the current campaign, he has scored two goals and provided one assist. These performances are helping to maintain interest from foreign clubs in a player who still has significant room for improvement.
