Tottenham: Mohammed Kudus emerges as a key figure in the Spurs’ revival
Ghana international Mohammed Kudus is growing in influence at Tottenham. Decisive in victories over Coventry City and Chelsea, the winger is contributing to the London club’s upturn in form at the start of the 2026-2027 season.
On October 19, Mohammed Kudus played a part in Tottenham’s 3-1 win over Coventry City, providing an assist for James Maddison in the 14th minute. Replaced in the 87th minute after a physical concern, the Ghanaian had helped set his team on the way to a valuable victory.
Five days later, the former West Ham player confirmed his importance during the trip to Stamford Bridge. Tottenham beat Chelsea 2-0, thanks to an own goal from Mike Penders and a goal by Mathys Tel. Kudus played 89 minutes of the match. Spurs manager Roberto De Zerbi praised his contribution after the London derby. “Kudus and Mathys made the difference,” said the Italian coach.
A valuable attacking asset for Tottenham
Capable of beating opponents in tight spaces and quickly carrying the ball forward, Mohammed Kudus offers Tottenham several attacking options. His work rate and ability to create openings make him an important option in Roberto De Zerbi’s system.
His performances take on added significance in a context marked by Savinho’s absence through injury. The Ghanaian has an opportunity to strengthen his standing within the London squad.
Tottenham must now prepare for their next match against Crystal Palace, scheduled for Saturday. Mohammed Kudus could once again play a decisive role as they seek a third consecutive victory.
