FC Barcelona: these three talents are on the radar for January
The defeats to Paris Saint-Germain (4-2) and then Real Madrid (2-1) convinced Hansi Flick of one thing. The team needs to recruit this winter to strengthen the squad.
The Barcelona squad has numerous weaknesses, mainly in the defensive department, which need to be addressed quickly. In recent days, the name of Finn Jeltsch, a young centre-back playing for Stuttgart, has resurfaced. Hansi Flick and his staff are indeed impressed by the qualities of the robust, intelligent player who is gifted with the ball at his feet.
Barça’s three favourites for the winter transfer window
According to information from Catalunya Ràdio, Barcelona president Joan Laporta dreams of signing one player. That player is Pedro Porro, Tottenham’s right-back who became world champion with Spain last summer. He is the club’s main target for the next transfer windows, after the Spanish champions tried to sign him last summer. The problem was that Spurs were asking for more than €60 million.
For its part, Sport adds that FC Barcelona is closely monitoring the situation of Estêvão Willian, whom the English media suggest could be considering a departure. FC Barcelona is paying close attention to any potential developments, while sporting director Deco is a big admirer of the 19-year-old forward and had already wanted to sign him when he was at Palmeiras.
The Turkish outlet Milliyet also reports that Barça are interested in Aleksey Batrakov, a 21-year-old Russian attacking midfielder at Galatasaray who had, incidentally, scored against the Catalans in the Champions League.
