France team: Mbappé and China, FFF president reacts

The controversy between Kylian Mbappé and China has claimed victims since Tuesday. In recent hours, the president of the French Football Federation has spoken out.

Since the controversy opposing Kylian Mbappé and China erupted, the French Football Federation has been monitoring the situation surrounding the Real Madrid forward. The affair concerns the captain of Les Bleus, but it could also have an impact on partnerships and even contracts between the federation and Chinese partners.

"We need to leave it at that," according to Phillipe Diallo

The president of the 3F, Philippe Diallo, spoke to Ouest-France in defense of the captain of the French national team. In his view, the controversy has gone much too far, and his apologies should be enough to calm things down.

« I saw that there was a controversy surrounding Kylian, certainly one that was a little too intense, because I do not think that Kylian intended in any way to tarnish the image of a Chinese official, nor to insult the Chinese people in any way. Ultimately, this is a controversy that should not, I hope, last, because Kylian explained very clearly the context in which this intervention took place. He apologized. I believe that we now need to leave it at that and allow him to continue his season in the best possible conditions," he declared.
