France: Zinedine Zidane reveals his first frustration
Recently, Zinedine Zidane opened up about his first frustration, several weeks after his first stint with the France national team.
For his first games in charge of the France national team, Zinedine Zidane has made what appears to be a perfect start. With three victories against Belgium (twice) and Turkey, as well as a draw against Italy, Les Bleus sit top of their group in the Nations League. Zidane was also able to test all of the called-up players except Jean Butez, the third goalkeeper, which gave him some satisfaction.
"Everyone was able to play, take part in the start of this adventure and show in competition what they had done very well in training. With my staff, we drew some real lessons from this first long camp; the young players and the newcomers showed themselves, as did the others. We launched a playing project with principles for when we have the ball and when we lose it. It will come together little by little; we have a lot of work to do, but once again, we are all getting to know one another," Zizou explained in comments relayed by the FFF.
Zidane frustrated after the players' departure
The France coach confirmed the objectives for the coming months. "Besides this Nations League, which is important, we want to be ready for the European Championship in two years and the 2030 World Cup," the coach continued. It should be noted that after these four matches, the new France boss was left frustrated by having to say goodbye to his players.
"I can't wait! Leaving the players after 15 days frustrated me a little; I'm discovering this feeling that is part of a coach's life. I really want to see them again at Clairefontaine and get back to work to build on our good start. I have talented players who play for the biggest clubs, but that guarantees us nothing. Nothing will be handed to us," he said.
