Ballon d’Or: Luis Enrique criticizes Vitinha’s ranking

Vitinha finished in fourteenth place, after ranking third in the 2025 edition, a position his coach deemed unfair.

Luis Enrique believes that the Portuguese midfielder deserved a higher position, stating:

« What he brings us is completely different. It is always a pleasure to have a player of this quality. His level is incredible and I am very happy to have a player of this level at my disposal, even though he deserved a better ranking in the Ballon d’Or. »

Enrique also praised his French international player Désiré Doué, stressing the importance of managing the pressure and noise surrounding him while continuing to improve with humility.

He added: “He is an incredible player who has a great desire to help the team. He is always smiling. I encourage him to continue in the same way, remaining humble and aiming for the best.” .
