Ballon d'Or 2026: Harry Kane's triumph brings nothing to Tottenham

Tottenham will not receive a single bonus from the 2026 Ballon d'Or won by their living legend Harry Kane on Monday evening.

Harry Kane's triumph at the 2026 Ballon d’Or will cost Bayern Munich absolutely nothing. Unlike what can be included in transfers involving major stars, no bonus linked to this individual award was included in the agreement reached with Tottenham. The English striker joined Bayern in 2023 for around €100 million.

According to information from Sky Sport Germany, Kane's contract does include other bonuses, particularly in the event of domestic titles or a Champions League victory. But Spurs will therefore receive no additional sum from the trophy won on Monday.

Kane to be knighted by Charles III?

Having won the 2026 Ballon d'Or, Harry Kane could receive another prestigious distinction in the coming days. In England, several people are calling for the Bayern Munich striker to be knighted by King Charles III. It is a possibility that has not left the player indifferent.

"I certainly wouldn't say no. It would be incredible and I would be extremely proud. But I don't want to get too carried away. Sir Harry Kane? It sounds good, but it would be a little strange for everyone to call me Sir. For now, I'm simply Harry," the England striker told Bild.
