Bayern Munich supporters have received reassuring news about their coach Vincent Kompany, after renowned Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano confirmed on Thursday that he had left hospital and returned home to continue his recovery.
Reassuring news about Kompany’s health
Romano wrote on his account: " Vincent Kompany has left the hospital and he’s back home, on the way to recover as Bayern want him to rest and feel 100% good before returning on the touchline. Beautiful news ".
Kompany’s health problems began on October 23, after he suddenly collapsed while at the team’s training centre.
In this context, Max Eberl, Bayern Munich’s director of sport, explained that examinations had revealed irritation of the meninges in Kompany.
He described the coach’s condition as good, adding: " I can’t say it is excellent, but it is good », before describing his discharge from hospital as « the best and most wonderful news for all of us ".
Kompany is expected to miss several of the “Rekordmeister”’s upcoming matches, including the Bundesliga clash against Borussia Dortmund and the Champions League fixture against Atlético de Madrid. The date of his return will be determined based on the development of his health and the doctors’ recommendations.
