Bournemouth: Amine Adli scores as Aston Villa are swept aside in the Carabao Cup!
Amine Adli set Bournemouth on their way to the quarter-finals of the English League Cup on Wednesday against Aston Villa, who were beaten 3-0.
Amine Adli played a part in Bournemouth’s emphatic victory over Aston Villa (3-0) on Wednesday, October 28, at the Vitality Stadium. Starting in the League Cup round of 16, the Moroccan international quickly opened the scoring. Marco Rose had made significant changes to his starting XI, handing Adli a starting place for the occasion.
Adli opens the scoring in the seventh minute
Set up by Julio Soler, the forward found the back of the net after just seven minutes of play. His goal put the Cherries ahead on the scoreboard, an advantage they held until half-time. Adli thus scored the first of his team’s three goals.
Cook and Rodríguez complete the victory
After the break, Lewis Cook doubled the lead in the 51st minute. Álvaro Rodríguez then scored the third goal in the 69th minute, confirming Bournemouth’s qualification for the quarter-finals. Aston Villa were unable to respond.
A positive evening for the Moroccan
Having joined from Leverkusen in summer 2025, Adli this time made a decisive contribution in a knockout competition. Bournemouth therefore continue their cup run before returning to the Premier League. The Cherries will host Leeds on Saturday, October 31, aiming to extend this momentum after securing qualification without conceding a goal.
