Cheick Keita on the radar of two La Liga clubs
Cheick Keita could take another step forward in his career. The 23-year-old defender, who plays for Sporting Charleroi, has attracted interest from several European clubs, notably Fiorentina, Real Betis and Villarreal. According to information from Ekrem Konur, the Spanish club Villarreal is stepping up its interest in the Mali international and has reportedly already made initial contact with his representatives.
Villarreal preparing a move for January
Villarreal is reportedly paying particularly close attention to Keita’s situation. According to Ekrem Konur, the Spanish club is considering submitting a multimillion-euro offer during the January transfer window. Initial discussions have reportedly already taken place with the defender’s representatives, while the Yellow Submarine is looking to make progress on the deal ahead of the next transfer window.
Real Betis are also monitoring the player, as are Fiorentina. Competition could therefore intensify if the reported interest leads to official offers.
Charleroi in a position to negotiate
Having joined Sporting Charleroi in July 2024, Cheick Keita is under contract with the Belgian club until June 2027. That expiry date could be a factor in discussions over his future. According to Transfermarkt, his current market value is estimated at €3.5 million. The defender has also earned two caps for the Mali national team.
His performances in Belgium are therefore opening up prospects for him on the European market, although no agreement or transfer has been announced at this stage.
