Jadon Sancho could continue his career away from Europe. Still without a club after leaving Manchester United, the 26-year-old English winger had been in talks with Getafe to join La Liga. But according to Spanish daily Marca, a lucrative offer from the Middle East may have changed the situation.

Getafe unable to meet his demands

In recent weeks, Getafe had stepped up its efforts to recruit the former Borussia Dortmund player. The club’s president, Ángel Torres, had confirmed that talks with the player were taking place, indicating that discussions had been ongoing for several months.

However, Sancho reportedly demanded €3 million net to join the Spanish side until the end of the season. It was a sum that Getafe would not have been able to offer him. According to Marca, the winger ultimately closed the door on the Madrid club after receiving a more lucrative financial offer from the Middle East.

Destination still unknown

For now, the identity of the club behind the proposal has not been revealed. Sancho’s future therefore remains uncertain, although the offer could definitively take him away from Getafe. After playing for Borussia Dortmund before joining Manchester United in the summer of 2021, the Englishman never managed to establish himself on a lasting basis with the Red Devils. He scored 12 goals and provided 6 assists in 83 appearances in all competitions for the Manchester club.

Last season, while on loan at Aston Villa, he provided two assists in 23 appearances in the Premier League. Now a free agent, Sancho must choose between the prospect of playing in La Liga and a more financially advantageous offer from the Middle East.
