2030 World Cup: inspection visits to decide on the stadiums
The FIFA delegation is expected to visit cities in the three countries next November and December to inspect the proposed stadiums and review the latest preparations to host the 2030 World Cup matches.
The inspections will go beyond sporting considerations to cover the various aspects related to the organisation, from infrastructure to transport and accommodation, as well as meetings with local officials, stadium managers and the parties involved in preparing the competition.
In Morocco, the visits will cover Agadir, Casablanca, Fez, Marrakech, Rabat and Tangier, while the Spanish list includes Barcelona, Bilbao, Las Palmas, Madrid, San Sebastián, Seville and Zaragoza. In Portugal, Lisbon and Porto will be included in the itinerary.
The identity of the stadiums that will host the matches, as well as the allocation of fixtures among the cities, remains undecided pending the completion of the evaluations and the international body’s final decision on the venues selected to host the competition.
