Yassir Zabiri continues to shine in Spain! The Moroccan striker was the driving force behind Racing Santander’s victory over Espanyol Barcelona (2-1) on Saturday, scoring the decisive goal in the 84th minute. Another goal that confirms his efficiency and enables his team to claim three valuable points.

Zabiri turns the match around

Racing Santander had nevertheless fallen behind. In the 62nd minute, Edu Expósito put Espanyol ahead, with the visitors hoping to leave El Sardinero with a positive result. But the hosts quickly responded. Belocian levelled the scores in the 69th minute, completely reopening the match.

With the match seemingly capable of going either way, Yassir Zabiri made the difference in the 84th minute. Inside the box, the Moroccan international took advantage of a poorly cleared ball to find the back of the net and secure victory for Racing.

Eight goals in ten matches for the Moroccan

With this latest goal, Zabiri now has eight goals in ten matches. He is therefore among the most prominent forwards at the start of the season in La Liga. Against Espanyol, the Moroccan played 97 minutes and recorded an 83% pass-completion rate, while proving decisive at the most important moment.

This victory allows Racing Santander to continue its progress. For Zabiri, this decisive goal represents another milestone in a particularly prolific season. The Moroccan striker is confirming that he can influence the outcome of matches and is gradually establishing himself as one of Racing Santander’s key players.
