Kaizer Chiefs and Sundowns: Both clubs receive financial support following their elimination from CAF tournaments
Although both Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns have been eliminated from CAF competitions, they have by no means returned home empty-handed.
Kaizer Chiefs have been eliminated from the CAF Confederation Cup after losing on penalties to Red Arrows, following a 1-1 aggregate draw. As for Mamelodi Sundowns, they have been eliminated from the CAF Champions League following a 1–1 draw against Wiliete SC at Loftus Versfeld Stadium.
Financial reward from Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs
CAF has committed to extending financial assistance to clubs that exit the competition during the preliminary stages. According to a statement published on the organization's website, each eliminated club will receive a subsidy of USD 100,000.
This funding is intended to help cover travel expenses and other logistical burdens. The move reflects CAF's effort to ensure that clubs whose participation ends early are still given meaningful support.
