“Vinicius law”: Neymar’s sanction has been handed down
The second disciplinary commission of Brazil’s Superior Court of Sports Justice handed a light sanction to Neymar , the Santos star, following the incident during which he covered his mouth with his hand during an altercation with an opposing player in the match played a few days ago.
The match between Santos and Bahia ended in a 1-1 draw, at the former’s stadium, on the 32nd matchday of the Brazilian league.
Neymar will miss 3 consecutive matches with Santos
The rule’s name is inspired by the incident involving Vinícius Júnior and Benfica player Gianluca Prestianni, whom the Brazilian star accused of racist insults during a match last season, while the Argentine was covering his mouth with his hand.
According to information revealed by the Spanish newspaper “Mundo Deportivo”, the former Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain player will miss two matches for violating the “Vinícius law”, despite a proposal within the commission to suspend him for 4 matches.
Neymar will therefore be unable to take part in Santos’ next three matches, after missing the clásico against Palmeiras due to an accumulation of cards and then being suspended for two additional matches.
