Atlético Madrid: drama in Spain, Marcos Llorente attacks the government

This Wednesday is a sad day in Spain. Two trains on a high-speed line collided near Urda, Spain, 150 kilometers south of Madrid.

The catastrophe has claimed at least 68 lives. An Atlético Madrid player and winner of the 2026 World Cup with Spain, Marcos Llorente used the opportunity to voice his anger on social media. The midfielder even attacked Transport Minister Óscar Puente. The player is calling for greater safety on Spanish public transport and a swift response from the relevant authorities.

Marcos Llorente lashes out at the authorities

"When human lives are at stake, the minimum that can be expected of a transport minister is responsibility, seriousness, safety and respect. We have had enough of politicians who seem more concerned with winning arguments on social media — as if they were 13 years old — than with assuming the responsibilities entrusted to them. Twitter is not your job. Your job is public transport, safety and accountability when things go wrong. So far, you have been an absolute disaster, but as always, you will blame someone else. Let the circus continue," the Colchonero wrote on his Instagram account.
