Champions League: Luis Enrique sets a record at PSG
Luis Enrique once again made history at PSG on Wednesday evening with the victory over Manchester City in the Champions League.
Paris Saint-Germain's victory over Manchester City (2-4) on Wednesday evening in the Champions League allowed Luis Enrique to set a new record. The Spanish coach recorded his 28th victory at the helm of a French club in Europe's most prestigious competition. He surpassed the 27 wins achieved by Laurent Blanc with Girondins de Bordeaux and then PSG. The Spanish coach's influence continues to grow.
Luis Enrique not entirely satisfied after the victory
Speaking to the press after Wednesday evening's victory, Luis Enrique expressed mixed feelings about his team's performance. He acknowledged that a substantial lead at half-time could create a dangerous sense of complacency among the players.
“How proud am I? It is difficult to say, because the match had very different moments,” Enrique told reporters. “In the first half, we showed what we want to do as a team, but I do not like going into the dressing room with a 3-0 lead. Most people think the match is won, but that is never the case. With a little less luck, we could even lose this kind of match. We suffered a lot in the second half; they deserved to score more. With a bit of bad luck, we could have lost this match,” he said.
