Yesterday, Manchester City were beaten by Paris Saint-Germain (2-4) at the end of a spectacular match on the second matchday of the Champions League.

At the end of the game, Enzo Maresca felt that his team had not been competing on equal terms with the French capital club. The Italian indirectly highlighted the level of the French league. "Yes, PSG have the possibility of resting some of their best players before every Champions League match. And not only before our game tonight," the Sky Blues manager told beIN Sports.

As a reminder, last Saturday, Ousmane Dembélé and Nuno Mendes had been rested for the Ligue 1 match against Le Mans (3-1).

Donnarumma criticised after the defeat

Gianluigi Donnarumma could not be faulted for the first goal conceded by Manchester City on Wednesday. The Italian goalkeeper was also culpable for a glaring error on Maghnes Akliouche's goal. The Italian was not at his best. According to Medhi Benatia, Manchester City's goalkeeper let his team down.

"In this kind of match, we always talk about the first 15 minutes. They concede two goals in 15 minutes, and Donnarumma is nevertheless culpable for the first goal. He could have done better. And when City are at their best and you think they are about to come back, he lets them down a second time. So, over the course of the evening, that is still a lot," the consultant said on Canal+.
