Against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium, Désiré Doué put in an excellent performance. The France international received high praise from Thierry Henry after Paris Saint-Germain’s victory.

Paris Saint-Germain produced a superb display of football at Manchester City on Wednesday evening in the Champions League, driven by an simply unstoppable Désiré Doué. The Frenchman scored one goal and provided one assist against the Sky Blues. Doué dominated proceedings against the English champions.

Thierry Henry sees a major difference in Doué

Questioned on the CBS Sports Golazo set as he savoured his performance, Désiré Doué saw a familiar face appear. His former coach at the Olympic Games, Thierry Henry, took the opportunity to address his former protégé directly. “I have to say something. I don’t know if people know that I coached you, but the Désiré Doué I saw two years ago and the one I see today are completely different. The way you are, your attitude, the way you approach the game… Especially when you want to be Désiré Doué and not someone else, you are unstoppable,” he said.

Touched by the tribute, the Parisian player responded with a smile and great humility: “Thank you, coach! I work every day and I think I have a lot of qualities. I have to show them in every match, enjoy every match and be consistent in my football.”
