Champions League: referee for PSG-Man City clash announced
UEFA has decided on the referee who will officiate the clash between Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City on Wednesday in the Champions League.
At the top of the Champions League standings after their emphatic 6-1 victory over Slovan Bratislava on the opening matchday, Paris Saint-Germain will have to face a much tougher opponent next Wednesday. The Parisians will travel to England to take on Manchester City.
The match will be refereed by a German. On Monday, UEFA revealed that Sven Jablonski had been chosen to officiate this clash on matchday two. He will be assisted by his compatriots Eduard Beitinger and Christian Dietz.
A first in the Champions League for Sven Jablonski
On Wednesday, it will be the first time Jablonski has refereed Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League. The German has already crossed paths with the capital club, but that was for a Youth League match against Juventus in September 2022 (a 5-3 win for the Parisians). However, he has already officiated a match involving the Sky Blues in Europe's most prestigious competition.

That was last season, during the away defeat at Bodo/Glimt (1-3) in the league phase. It must be said that French fans have already seen Jablonski in action this season, as he was the referee for the first leg of the Champions League play-off between Fenerbahçe and Olympique Lyonnais (1-1).
