Could Donnarumma already leave Manchester City?
A return to Italy could be on the cards for Gianluigi Donnarumma. Having joined Manchester City in the summer of 2025, the Italian goalkeeper is reportedly at the centre of speculation as the English club faces proceedings over 115 alleged breaches of the Premier League’s financial rules.
A situation that could change everything
Manchester City is contesting the accusations against it, but the outcome of these proceedings could have major repercussions for the club’s strategy in upcoming transfer windows. According to CalcioMercato.com, Donnarumma could be among the players affected by a potential squad overhaul if the situation were to become more complicated.
The 27-year-old goalkeeper joined the Citizens from Paris Saint-Germain for around €30 million. His departure from Paris had also attracted interest from Juventus and Inter, but the Italian clubs were ultimately unable to match the financial terms offered in England.
Juventus and Inter monitoring the situation
A return to Serie A now appears to be a possibility worth monitoring. Juventus is reportedly keeping a close eye on the situation, particularly because its plans for the goalkeeper position for the 2027-2028 season have not yet been fully decided.
Inter Milan could also make a move if an opportunity arose. The club currently has Josep Martínez and Provedel, but the situation could change in the coming months. The main difficulty, however, would remain financial. Donnarumma is reportedly earning around €15 million per year at Manchester City, a salary significantly higher than what the Italian clubs could offer him when he left PSG.
