Egypt: concern over Mohamed Salah

Mohamed Salah is causing concern in Egypt. The national team captain is set to undergo further medical examinations after asking to be substituted during the 1-1 draw with Iran on the final day of Group G at the World Cup.

The Egyptian forward left the pitch shortly after the start of the second half, clearly struggling physically. The situation immediately alarmed the coaching staff. Head coach Hossam Hassan, however, tried to reassure fans, stating that the injury did not appear serious, though he remained cautious pending the results of the tests.

Despite these concerns, Egypt finished second in their group and advanced to the round of 16. The coaching staff now hopes to have their captain back as soon as possible for the rest of the tournament.
