PSG outclassed Aston Villa in a lively final to clinch another European trophy, thanks to their dynamic wingers.

Paris Saint-Germain secured the 2026 European Super Cup by overcoming Aston Villa in Salzburg (2-1). The Parisians started the match with authority, quickly setting the tempo and putting the English side under pressure.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia made their dominance count in the 20th minute. After beating Matty Cash, the Georgian winger blasted a powerful shot past Marco Bizot. Paris controlled possession afterwards but couldn’t extend their lead. Showing more initiative in the final quarter-hour, Villa equalized through Brian Madjo just before halftime.

Désiré Doué restores PSG’s advantage

After the break, Luis Enrique’s men returned with greater control. Set free by Ousmane Dembélé, Désiré Doué slotted home with his left foot in the 61st minute. Initially flagged offside, the French winger’s goal was eventually confirmed after a VAR review.

Confident in their strength, PSG managed the closing stages without real danger. The Parisians deservedly take the win and retain the trophy they claimed against Tottenham in 2025. Double Champions League holders, the capital club now also secures its second consecutive European Super Cup.
