Ex-Kaizer Chiefs coach Cedric Kaze off to winning start in Tanzania
Former Kaizer Chiefs co-coach Cedric Kaze guided Kagera Sugar to a 3-1 victory over Mbeya City in the NBC Tanzania Premier League on Friday.
The newly promoted side opened the scoring through Emmanuel Mvuyekure in the 37th minute, before Hassan Cheda equalized on the stroke of half-time.
However, Kaze's men restored their lead six minutes after the restart thanks to Mudathir Said, who completed his brace in the 69th minute.
Notably, it was Kagera Sugar's first win of the season, which saw them climb to 14th place with five points accumulated from their opening seven matches.
Kaze will be hoping to maintain momentum after winning his first game in charge, with his troops set to tackle Polisi Tanzania FC in their next outing.
He was appointed last month after mutually parting ways with Betway Premiership outfit Sekhukhune United, owing to internal rift with the hierarchy.
The Burundian tactician oversaw seven matches in charge of Babina Noko, winning three games, while losing the other four encounters.
Having returned to a familiar territory in the NBC Tanzania Premier League, Kaze will be looking to get his career back on track.
