FIFA ranking: France takes over as new leader ahead of Spain and Argentina

There’s been a shake-up at the top of the FIFA rankings following the latest results from the March international break. Les Bleus have seized the top spot, overtaking both Spain and Argentina.

Just ten weeks before the 2026 World Cup, Spain has lost its throne in the FIFA standings after a goalless draw against Egypt (0-0).

France took full advantage. After their hard-fought victory over Brazil (1-2), Kylian Mbappé and his teammates had already leapfrogged Argentina to become runners-up to La Roja.

But after the reigning European champions were held to a draw by the Pharaohs, and the 2018 World Cup winners triumphed over Colombia (3-1), it’s Les Bleus who now stand at the summit.

1- France: 1877.32 points

2- Spain: 1876.40 points

3- Argentina: 1874.81 points

4- England: 1825.97 points

5- Portugal: 1763.83 points

6- Brazil: 1761.16 points

7- Netherlands: 1757.87 points

8- Morocco: 1755.87 points

9- Belgium: 1734.71 points

10- Germany: 1730.37 points
