French national team: Gianni Infantino sends a message to Kylian Mbappé
This Tuesday, the captain of the French national team, Kylian Mbappé, received recognition from a figure currently embroiled in controversy. Of course, we're talking about FIFA president Gianni Infantino.
Two weeks after the end of the 2026 World Cup, Gianni Infantino took to his Instagram account to post a message exclusively congratulating Kylian Mbappé for his record-breaking feats during the tournament in the United States.
"The incredible Kylian Mbappé pulled off a historic double at the World Cup, winning the Golden Boot for the second time in a row thanks to his ten goals scored during the North American tournament! The captain of Les Bleus also shattered several records, becoming the all-time top scorer in both World Cup history and for the French national team," declared the FIFA president.

This statement from Gianni Infantino comes at a time when the FIFA president is facing a storm of criticism following his decision to create a commercial company to manage the World Cup. Although he has since abandoned the idea, Infantino has been repeatedly called upon to resign from his position at the head of world football's governing body.
