On Monday, the Netherlands were knocked out by Morocco (1-1, 2-3 on penalties) in the round of 16 at this 2026 World Cup.

Since then, the Netherlands have come under heavy criticism. Zlatan Ibrahimovic, for his part, did not go easy on the former FC Barcelona coach. The former striker held head coach Ronald Koeman chiefly responsible for this failure.

"This defeat is Koeman's fault. I didn't recognize the Dutch team. Koeman lost with an identity that has nothing to do with Dutch football. The players looked uncomfortable, they didn't control the ball, and they posed no threat in attack. I hold Koeman responsible. I think he is absolutely useless," said the AC Milan executive to Fox Sports.
