Egyptian forward Mohamed Salah has broken an unprecedented club record at Trabzonspor by becoming the most printed name on replica shirts in the club's history, according to Turkish outlet 61saat.

Historic shirt demand drives commercial windfall

The 34 year old winger who signed a contract running until 2028 following his free transfer departure from Liverpool, has sparked a retail surge across the Black Sea region.

According to 61saat, Salah’s name and number have been printed on more official jerseys than those of any other player in Trabzonspor’s history. To maximise the financial windfall for the club's treasury, Trabzonspor management instituted a policy restricting the printing of Salah’s name exclusively to new 2026 /27 season kits encouraging supporters to purchase the latest merchandise.

Trabzonspor secured the Egyptian captain’s signature earlier this month, winning the race for his services after talks with Istanbul rivals Besiktas failed to materialise.

Super Lig debut against Kasimpasa

Salah is in line to make his competitive debut for the club on Saturday evening under manager Fatih Tekke.

Trabzonspor travel to Istanbul to face Kasimpasa at the Recep Tayyip Erdogan Stadium for their opening fixture of the 2026 /27 Super Lig campaign, with kick off scheduled for 17:00 GMT.

The record breaking shirt sales illustrate the immense commercial and cultural impact Salah delivers beyond the pitch. By attracting a global following to Trabzon, the transfer has already provided a major boost to the club’s balance sheet.

Salah will look to make his first official appearance against Kasimpasa on Today night before Trabzonspor turn their attention to continental action, where they are scheduled to host Hungarian outfit Ferencvaros in the UEFA Europa League qualifiers.
