For several weeks now, the Italian Football Federation has been searching for a new head coach.

The organization is unlikely to secure Pep Guardiola, who prefers to take a break after his spell at Manchester City. FIGC technical director Paolo Maldini, however, has refused to rule out the Spanish manager and revealed that talks have also taken place with Carlo Ancelotti, currently managing Brazil.

"Guardiola? We can't give any information on that. You've identified one of our targets, but we've also spoken with Ancelotti, for example. It seemed logical to us to talk with the best in the world to see if they were available to take charge of the Italian national team," said the former AC Milan defender in front of the press this Thursday.
