Ivory Coast is set to kick off its campaign in the2026 World Cup on June 14. Just like coach Emerse Faé, midfielder Seko Fofana exuded the Elephants’ ambition ahead of the Ecuador clash.

Seko Fofana emphasized the team’s collective spirit ahead of this opening match.
“Often, we shape our own destiny. But I know the group’s mentality is excellent. We’ve had enough time to prepare and put in the hard work. We also delivered a superb performance against the French national team, which boosts our confidence.”

The Rennes midfielder, on loan at Porto this season, added:
“Still, every match has its own story. There are different contexts and circumstances. That said, I’m confident that tomorrow we’ll be ready.”

Ivory Coast will face Ecuador from 23:00 GMT at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia.
