On Thursday night, Kylian Mbappé finished as both scorer and provider against Morocco (2-0) in the quarter-finals of this 2026 World Cup.

Facing off against Achraf Hakimi, the French captain showed no sympathy for his former teammate and friend.

"Was it tough to see him sad on the pitch? No, no. It’ll be tougher when I see him back in the dressing room, because then we’re just humans again, friends again. But on the pitch, there’s no emotion. I’m here to win, and so was he. Of course, when I see him in the dressing room, it’ll hit me because he’s a very close friend. But here, there are no feelings," admitted the Real Madrid striker to M6.
