In an interview with Africa Foot, Salaheddine Bassir offered his analysis of the opening showdown between Morocco and Brazil in the World Cup. For the former international star and the Atlas Lions’ record scorer, everything will be decided in midfield.

"If Morocco can maintain compactness and keep their lines close together, they’ll force Brazil to look for more complicated solutions. This Brazil side is packed with individual brilliance, but even the world’s best players can struggle against a well-organized collective unit."

Bassir pointed out a weakness in the Seleção.

Brazil often attacks with many players, sometimes leaving space behind. Morocco needs to exploit these areas through Achraf Hakimi’s pace and the technical quality of their midfield.

After making history by reaching the semi-finals in Qatar, all eyes are on Morocco’s performance in this edition of the World Cup. Achraf Hakimi and his teammates will kick off the competition against Brazil on June 13, with kick-off set for 22:00 GMT.
