Despite being knocked out by Morocco (0-3) on Saturday in the round of 16 at this 2026 World Cup, Canada’s head coach Jesse Marsch claimed his team was the better side in this match.

But on the other side, and with a touch of irony, the Atlas Lions’ boss Mohamed Ouahbi had a pointed response for him.

"In terms of intensity, they were good. But to say they were 'better'—that’s a stretch when you lose 3-0, you have to be bold for that. There was a decisive save from Bounou. Their intensity stayed the same in the second half, but they were less effective. I think in the second half, there’s no contest, really." the Moroccan coach quipped in the mixed zone.
