Koulibaly temporarily out: Al Hilal provides an update
The Saudi club has announced that its Senegalese defender, Kalidou Koulibaly (34), will travel to Spain on Monday to undergo comprehensive medical examinations to assess his thigh injury. He will be treated by specialists in coordination with the club’s medical staff.
In a previous statement, Al Hilal had specified that initial tests, including an MRI, revealed a grade 2 muscle tear accompanied by a hematoma in the anterior thigh muscle.
The “Lion of Teranga” is now racing against time to regain full fitness, with just weeks to go before the 2026 World Cup kicks off, scheduled from June 11 to July 19.
It’s worth noting that the former Chelsea player has featured in 26 matches for Al Hilal this season, scoring two goals and providing two assists.
