OFFICIAL: Sekhukhune United cut ties with five players

Betway Premiership side Sekhukhune United have continued their mass exodus by mutually terminating contracts of five players ahead of the 2026/27 season.

Former Mamelodi Sundowns winger Lesiba Nku headlines the latest exits, ending his brief spell at the club having joined from Stellenbosch FC in January.

Lebohang Phiri, who arrived in January on a free transfer after he was previously linked with Kaizer Chiefs, has also departed Babina Noko.

Meanwhile, Ronaldo Maarman was deemed surplus to requirements upon his return from a loan spell with Nedbank Cup champions Durban City.

Sphiwe Mahlangu, similarly to Maarman, won't be retained after spending the second half of the 2025/26 campaign on loan at Durban City.

On the other hand, Sekhukhune have also parted ways with academy graduate Samkele Sihlali, who was sent out on loan to Gomora United in the second-tier in January.

Notably, the club also confirmed the exits of Thabang Monare, Bradley Grobler, Rivaldo Coetzee, Siphosonke Langa, Katlego Mohamme, and Ryan Baartman last week.

The squad overhaul comes as part of preparations for the upcoming season, with Babina Noko set to bolster the team with several key and experienced figures.

Sekhukhune are expected to announce the appointment of former Chiefs co-coach Cedric Kaze as the club's new head coach after his departure at Naturena.
