Simon Adingra has officially joined Sunderland from Brighton & Hove Albion. The 23-year-old Ivorian winger has signed a five-year deal with the Black Cats at the Stadium of Light for a transfer fee reported at €21 million plus €3 million in bonuses.

After bringing in Enzo Le Fée, Habib Diarra, Noah Sadiki, Reinildo Mandava, and Chemsdine Talbi, AFC Sunderland have now confirmed the arrival of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations champion. Following a mixed spell at Brighton, where first-team opportunities were limited, Simon Adingra has chosen the North East club to secure more playing time and take up a key role in the starting eleven.

During the 2024–2025 season, Simon Adingra made 33 appearances across all competitions for Brighton, scoring 5 goals and providing 2 assists. These modest statistics reflect the challenges he faced in establishing himself within the Seagulls’ deep squad.

"I spoke with the manager and the owner, and they showed interest in me, so I decided to come and be part of the project. The Premier League has been my dream since I was a child—I'm living my dream. Today, I'm here at Sunderland. I can't wait to meet my teammates and get to work. It's a pleasure to be here and I'm eager to get started. I hope we can achieve great things together," Adingra said during his unveiling.
