Last night, James Rodriguez and Cristiano Ronaldo shared a lengthy conversation on the sidelines of the goalless draw between Colombia and Portugal (0-0) during the third matchday of this 2026 World Cup.

The Colombian midfielder seized the opportunity to pay a heartfelt tribute to Cristiano Ronaldo after the final whistle.

"With Cristiano, we played together in countless training sessions and matches. We achieved great things side by side. Facing him now is an honor, a tremendous source of pride. Cristiano is a football legend. And also an example in life, because he always has that hunger to win. He’s always driven, and I think that’s magnificent," declared the Minnesota attacking midfielder to journalists.
