After Paris Saint-Germain's victory over Le Mans (3-1) on Saturday evening on Ligue 1's return, Luis Enrique had to explain his handling of the squad.

Luis Enrique left several key players on the bench at the start of Saturday evening's match. The Spanish coach saw his substitutes give his team fresh impetus. However, the coach refuses to consider that his initial choices made things more difficult for the Parisians.

"I am sure that if we had done the opposite, if the Fantastic Four (Kvaratskhelia, Vitinha, Fabian Ruiz and Zaïre-Emery) had started, we would have been in the same situation. That's football. This type of match is not easy. It is important for us to keep winning. These are three important points," Luis Enrique explained to journalists at a press conference.

Enrique has a message for the opposition

Yesterday, Patrick Videira's side clearly came to the Parc des Princes without any inferiority complex. Luis Enrique therefore made a point of congratulating them after the match.

"The first thing I would like to highlight is that the Le Mans team played very well. They were very brave. I must congratulate Patrick Videira and his excellent team. It was difficult and complicated, but we did everything we could to win this match," the Spanish coach told Ligue 1+.
