Paris Saint-Germain kicks off its league campaign at Roazhon Park against Stade Rennais this Sunday. Discover the probable lineups.

After their setback in the Trophée des Champions against Lens, PSG is looking for a strong start. On the Stade Rennais pitch, there should be a sense of balance. Despite the absences of Nuno Mendes, Bradley Barcola, and Ibrahim Mbaye for the Parisians, as well as Mahdi Camara, Breel Embolo, and Seko Fofana for the Bretons, both managers will have almost all their key players available for this opening showdown.

For Paris Saint-Germain, Matvey Safonov is expected to start in goal behind a defensive four of Achraf Hakimi, Marquinhos, Willian Pacho, and Lucas Digne. The only real question mark in midfield is the identity of the left-sided box-to-box player. The media are split between Fabian Ruiz and João Neves to support Vitinha and Warren Zaïre-Emery. Up front, Ousmane Dembélé should lead the line, flanked by Désiré Doué and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

As for Rennes, they'll stick to their usual 4-3-3 formation with Brice Samba in goal. The defense will see new signing Charlie Cresswell make his starting debut alongside Aït-Boudlal, with Frankowski and Merlin on the flanks. Valentin Rongier will orchestrate the midfield, joined by Sebastian Szymański and Adrien Thomasson. Supported by the wing duo Soumaré and Al-Tamari, the ever-dangerous Esteban Lepaul will spearhead the Breton attack, determined to topple the reigning champions right from matchday one.
