Senegal falls 3-2 to Norway in the second round of Group I of the World Cup. The Teranga Lions' qualification hopes have become even more complicated after their 1-3 defeat to France in the opening match.

Norway opened the scoring just before halftime through Pedersen 1-0 after a costly mistake from Kalidou Koulibaly. The Norwegians doubled their lead early in the second half as Haaland made it 2-0 in the 48th minute. Senegal responded through Ismaïla Sarr in the 53rd minute, cutting the deficit to 2-1 and reigniting Senegalese hopes.

But Erling Haaland struck again, netting his fourth goal of the tournament in the 58th minute to restore Norway's two-goal cushion at 3-1. Ismaïla Sarr salvaged some pride with a second goal in the 90th minute, but Senegal couldn't find an equalizer and suffered their second defeat, 3-2, following the 1-3 loss to France.

The Lions of Senegal have conceded six goals in two games and sit third in Group I with no points.
The challenge grows for Baba Thiaw. Senegal must defeat Iraq on June 26 to keep their qualification hopes alive.

Meanwhile, Norway confirmed their dominance after their 4-1 win over Iraq. With six points, Erling Haaland and his teammates have booked their spot in the Round of 16. They will face France on 27 June in the third round.
